Combining two codes in to one

Hi Guys,

I've been given a sony KDL-55XBR45..

I reset it to factory defaults to try and fix up some bad setting (colour etc)...


That's when the probelm started. It now is asking to sync the remote, which I can't get to work! (over 2 weeks now)

The procedure is to press the TV button (and hold), then press the Return button..

So, can anybody tell me if the TV button on the sony bravia series actually send a IR flash? On mine, it doesn't. It just flashes (backlit), but doesn't send any IR.

I've got a Sony RM-GD008 remote..
