"HEX" Code

I see a lot of documents referring to HEX code. Global Cache has a "control tower" which it claims is the first on-line database of IR codes. I seriously doubt that. It is perhaps the first professionally maintained on-line database with a complete API and a web-based interface for finding IR codes by manufacturer/device type/model.

They refer to "HEX" Codes. I guess "HEX codes" is now the common default name for Pronto IR coding as developed by Philips (I Think, and am pretty sure) for its line of remote controls. They really should provide some form of attribution and give credit... [More Content]

Trouble charging TSU9600 battery

Hi Guys,

I have four TSU9600s that I have used for many years. I have replaced the batteries over the years and am running into an issue with charging. The remote properly does not give the low battery message until the battery is drained. Once placed on the dock the low battery message will continuously pop up along with the bee-dunk sound and the charging indicator light will go out. I clear the message and the same thing happens repeatedly.

Philips Pronto TSU9200 software troubles

Good afternoon! My name is Max. And I have a problem. Not so long ago I bought not a new TSU9200. Without software disk.

I installed on my computer:
Windows XP SP3
Framework 3.0
Visual runtime 8.0
(As stated in the Pronto Cofigurator program manual from this site.)

Connected TSU9200 to the computer. The computer identified it as a device, and the TSU9200 switched to USB mode. Launched Pronto configurator.
A window appeared with the creation of My profile, where I indicate my personal details.

Then, I click> NEXT

Need new battery for TSU9400

One of my Pronto TSU9400's battery doesn't last long - just a few minutes and then I get the low battery warning. I'd like to get a replacement.

I understand that the TSU9400's battery specs are:

3.7vdc 1700mah/6.29kwh, lithium/polymer

(and need a T6 Torx).

Are these generic batteries or custom made specifically for the TSU9400?

I found a few threads regarding TSU9400 batteries, but they're quite old (seems servicewidetech.com, isn't around anymore). I did an online search and I see some places that advertise TSU9400 batteries. But, I'm just wondering if I were to get a new battery if... [More Content]

PEP1 doesn't load after splash screen

Hi Everybody,
I am installing PEP1 on a laptop for the first time. The installation went fine but when attempting to start the program I only see the splash screen. PEP1 does not load. Anyone else come across this?

First, I am a long time Pronto user and member of Remote Central (2012 or 13). I have not had a single performance issue with the Pronto in all that time, and I still don't. So why am I seeking help on this chat room? I will tell you. About 2 weeks ago, my PC died of old age and was replaced. Since then I have been reloading my programs. So far it has gone well, but now I'm trying to reinstall my Pronto app I use for programing the remote. I only have the original CD.

Used TSU9600 up for grabs

First, sorry if this is the wrong place to put this. I finally sunset my last Pronto device. It is a TSU9600 in great condition, original box, and equipment. About 6 months use on a new battery. It's been sitting in a box as a backup for about a year.

This board has been so much help to me I thought I would offer it here. No charge. Just pay the shipping. First dibs to users I recognize and have answered my questions, otherwise up for grabs.

PEP2 and PEP3 "hang" and do not complete installation

Hi everyone,

I have been away from the forum for quite some time. But just recently I came across an issue on my desktop PC (I7-9700K CPU, 32G mem, Windows 10 Pro ver.1903-build 18362.418), that has me tied up without being able to find a solution. I have tried to alternately install PEP2 and PEP3, but I get an error "Invalid File Handle 32" when the "Fonts" folder is being created, I then hit "OK" and the install continues, but when either version of PEP reaches the point of "creating folder backup", they just hang indefinitely and I have to use "Task Manger" to quit the install. Anyone know how?

I added a folder: C:\ProgramData\Philips\ProntoEdit Professional 3\Gallery\Buttons\Bert

I added some .png images like 'Button1_R.png' and 'Butto n2_P.png'.
In PEP I see a new category 'Bert' but without images. https://tweakbox.mobi/

I have created some pages in the config where the buttons are located, and I know I can replace an image of a button, but I am wondering f I could add them to my gallery. NVIDIA Shield Pro (2019) and Pronto

Just got an NVIDIA Shield Pro (2019). It doesn't have an IR receiver. It only supports bluetooth. For those interested, I was able to use a Flirc USB to control it with a Pronto TSU9400. Below is more information:

TSU 9400 Command Failed

Going crazy. I have a tsu 9400 purchased used a few years ago, been working great until tonite. I moved one button in my config (pep2) from one page to another, downloaded config. Now some hard buttons not sending ir signal.
buttons not working are, mute - ok - menu - volume+ - left dot - right dot - power. If I send test code from my database it works. I tried reset, home - menu -page up no good. I removed battery no good. Is there a reset button on unit? Any help would be appreciated. 9400 specs application 5.0.6 ir firmware 3.0.11

Does Prontoscript support a JSON.parse()? If not, I saw another thread that mentioned this: https://github.com/douglascrockford/JSON-js/blob/master/json2.js

Or does someone have a recommendation for a good JSON.parse() that can be used with Prontoscript?

Newbie Question- Vintage Gear

Have a new office workspace. There is a motorized screen that appears to be controlled by a Sompy IR1 which has disappeared. I have found the codes for this remote for the Pronto system- my question is what's the most cost effective remote I can purchase that I can convert/program with these codes? I'm not opposed from buying used- just figure if I have to buy a replacement remote I'd rather spend $ on a multiuse remote.

Any help or direction would be appreciated.

Samsung TV Prontoscript

Hi

Wonder if anyone has had success controlling Samsung TVs via the TVs API using Prontoscript ? The current models don't have IR inputs and the remote they supply is bluetooth. There's a bit of python and other code around that uses the API to send button commands.

Rolando1948, thanks for the help with getting PEP and Win 10 to co-operate.

Barf, thanks again for MF codes. I got a Bluetooth adapter for Christmas so being able to add the codes to switch inputs was a big help - previously I only used the CD input, so hadn't used them.
The downside is that the kids now have control over music - but you can't win them all...

Working I'm pretty sure though battery may not be viable.

Have bases and chargers.

If someone is interested I will charge them and make sure they start.
