I see a lot of documents referring to HEX code. Global Cache has a "control tower" which it claims is the first on-line database of IR codes. I seriously doubt that. It is perhaps the first professionally maintained on-line database with a complete API and a web-based interface for finding IR codes by manufacturer/device type/model.
They refer to "HEX" Codes. I guess "HEX codes" is now the common default name for Pronto IR coding as developed by Philips (I Think, and am pretty sure) for its line of remote controls. They really should provide some form of attribution and give credit... [More Content]
